Harley Motorcycles
Harley motorcycles have been grazing the planet for over one hundred years now and are still admired by thousands all over the world. These babies are ridden with customized style in the highway and have become the pioneer of the well-loved choppers. Their patented sleek designs are highly distinguished for their uniqueness in style and form.
Currently, there are five model specifications for Harley motorcycles; the Sportster, the Dyna, the Softail, the Touring and the Revolution model. Each is classified according to the kind of engine used or placed on them and have particular letters assigned to each model.
Sportster models have been the longest-running model of the company and were most often found on the streets and race courses. They have the prefix XL assigned to them. Dyna motorcycles have the letters FXD attached to them. They are styled to tradition and are distinguished from the Softail by its coil-over suspension and from the Sportster by their bigger engines.
Softail models are made with the company’s innate sense of tradition. They look like the hardtail choppers well known during the 60s and 70s and are given the letters FST. The Touring specification of the Harley-Davidson is designated the letters FL. They were popularly called as “dressers” and are easily made out by their rear coil-over air suspension and is the only specification incorporated with radios or CBs.
Last but not the least, Revolution motorcycles are given the letters VRSC. Just introduced last 2001, Harley motorcycles looks up to this mean machine as a basis for their growing line-up of drag-racing motorcycles.
